Comecer acquires Veenstra Instruments

April 5, 2012 -- Italian shielding systems firm Comecer has acquired Veenstra Instruments.

Based in Joure, the Netherlands, Veenstra specializes in software, mechanics, and electronics for nuclear medicine, radiochemistry, radiopharmacy, hospital pharmacy, and calibration laboratories.

Comecer's shielding systems and equipment for special applications are used by industrial groups and research agencies, including hospitals, universities, and pharmaceutical companies.

The company, based in Castel Bolognese, also provides equipment for the handling, deactivating, and disposing of radioactive substances from nuclear power plants.
