IAEA video promotes its radiotracer support

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is spreading the word on its support for the development, manufacture, and expanded use of radiopharmaceuticals in the former Yugoslavian republic of Macedonia.

The 100-second promotional video explains how radiotracers are used in nuclear medicine and their benefits to patients through the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, most notably cancer.

The IAEA also highlights its support for Macedonia and other European countries in which the radiotracers are manufactured. In particular, Emilija Janevik, PhD, director of the University Institute for PET in Skopje, Macedonia, extols the advantages of the facility having its own particle accelerator to supply its needs.

With aid from the IAEA, the university plans to expand radiopharmaceutical coverage to other nearby regions.
