Half of healthcare centers unaware of security breaches

June 2, 2011 -- Half of major healthcare organizations in Europe and Russia don't know the number and nature of security events that have occurred in their organization in the past year, according to a recent report by IDC Health Insights.
The report, "Business Strategy: How Secure Is Your Information Security Strategy? 10+1 Recommendations on Cyber Security for EMEA Healthcare Organizations," also found the top security threat perceived by healthcare organizations is employee error or accidental loss of sensitive information.
The report offers recommendations that will help minimize the risk of security breaches and other events, as well as addresses cloud computing, social networking, and mobile devices, the company said.
