Willi Kalender confirmed as plenary speaker at UKRC

Registration is underway for the annual meeting of the U.K. Radiological Congress (UKRC), to be held from 29 June to 1 July in Liverpool. The organizers have confirmed CT pioneer Dr. Willi Kalender, PhD, from Erlangen, Germany, as a plenary speaker.

The event covers all aspects of diagnostic imaging and oncology, from clinical service delivery, management, informatics, and research, and will feature clinical sessions, interactive tutorials, and plenary lectures all three days.

There also are more than 80 exhibition stands to provide additional information for attendees, more than 200 posters from a variety of disciplines, and more than 100 e-posters that can be accessed through computer consoles in the exhibition hall.

The highlights include a session on imaging tuberculosis by Dr. Steve Ellis from Barts Health National Health Service (NHS) Trust, and a discussion led by Dr. Paul Mallinson from Vancouver (British Columbia) General Hospital on dual-energy CT in the emergency room.

Also, delegates can attend a presentation on outsourcing in the NHS with panelists that include Dr. Stephen Davis of Medica, consultant oncologist Dr. Clive Peedell, radiologist Dr. Giles Maskell, and Pam Black from the Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR).
