German, Swiss researchers win BJR awards

German and Swiss researchers were presented with British Journal of Radiology (BJR) awards at the British Institute of Radiology (BIR) annual meeting held earlier this month in London.

Dr. Tilman Emrich of Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz, Germany, received the Barclay Medal for his paper "Cardiac Magnetic Resonance enables diagnosis in 90% of patients with acute chest pain, elevated biomarkers and unosbstructed coronary arteries" (BJR, 17 April 2015).

Dr. Sonja Gordic received the Young Investigator award for her paper, "Whole-body CT-based imaging algorithm for multiple trauma patients: Radiation dose and time to diagnosis" (BJR, 11 February 2015). Gordic trained at the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland; she is now a research fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in New York City.
