CFI Medical has received CE Mark approval for its Zero-Gravity suspended body shield for radiation protection.
The clearance allows biomedical device company Biotronik to exclusively distribute Zero-Gravity outside North America.
The body shield is designed as a single, continuous lead barrier that covers critical parts of a patient's body without exerting pressure. A body shield and clear acrylic head shield are suspended from a rail attached to a wheeled base that is parked during use.
The configuration allows a clinician to move freely within a cath lab while being fully protected by the Zero-Gravity system.
CFI Medical plans to submit three ceiling-mounted models for evaluation and certification in the next few months.
