Siemens Healthcare grows Q3 revenues by 17%

July 26, 2012 -- Despite the lackluster global economy, Siemens Healthcare produced double-digit growth in revenues in the company's third quarter of fiscal 2012 (end-June 29).

Revenues in the third quarter increased 17% to 3.34 billion euros, compared with 2.86 billion euros in the third quarter of fiscal 2011.

Profit increased to 396 million euros, compared with profit of 8 million euros in the same quarter of fiscal 2011. The quarterly profit a year ago was adversely affected by a charge of 33 million euros.

Siemens Healthcare also took new orders totaling 3.32 billion euros in the third quarter, a gain of 10% over new orders of 3.01 billion euros in last fiscal year's third quarter.

For the nine-month period, revenues in the healthcare business increased 8% to 9.86 billion euros, compared with 9.11 billion euros in the same period of 2011. The segment's profit increased 41% to 1.18 billion euros, compared with a profit of 840 million euros in the same period a year ago.

New orders for the nine-month period increased 6% to 9.85 billion euros, compared with 9.3 billion euros in the same period a year ago.
