European data storage market poised to grow
By AuntMinnieEurope.com staff writers

July 11, 2012 -- The European healthcare data storage market is poised to grow, according to a new report issued by market research firm Frost & Sullivan.

The market earned revenues of 897.6 million euros ($1.1 billion U.S.) in 2010; Frost & Sullivan expects it to increase to 2.04 billion euros ($2.5 billion) in 2017.

Why? Hospital administrations are focusing on developing defensive evidence to address legal issues, and this requires saving large volumes of patient data for a longer period of time, according to Frost & Sullivan. And the growing exchange of healthcare information is motivating the need for efficient data storage, the firm said.
