The three-year project is aiming to develop a turnkey radiotracer infrastructure to produce PET tracers primarily for emerging markets, rural and regional hospitals, and researchers, according to the companies. The new TracerCenter 600 features the PETtrace 600 cyclotron, which will have an approximately 50% smaller footprint than a traditional cyclotron. TracerCenter 600 with PETtrace 600 will be capable of producing a full portfolio of F-18 and carbon-11 tracers to detect cancer and neurodegenerative disease, the firms said.

GE will lead the project, which will be based in Uppsala, Sweden. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
