IBA delivers cyclotron for proton therapy to Russia

Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) has completed installation of its Cyclone 230 cyclotron for a new proton therapy center in Dimitrovgrad, Russia.

IBA also will equip the facility with the Proteus Plus four-treatment room configuration for image-guided intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT). Acceptance of the first treatment room is planned for the end of 2017.

As part of the Federal High-Tech Center of Medical Radiology of the Federal Medico-Biological Agency of Russia (FMBA), the proton therapy center in Dimitrovgrad is expected to treat up to 1,200 patients per year.
