The German Society of Interventional Radiology (GSIR) has certified the Klinikum Saarbrücken for its work in interventional vascular medicine and minimally invasive therapy. It is the first such award from the GSIR.
In an interview with the GSIR, Dr. Elmar Spüntrup, director of the hospital's institute of radiology, said the certification is a great honor for the facility's interventional radiologists.
The Klinikum Saarbrücken already has received certification as an interdisciplinary vascular center from the German Radiological Society, the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine, and the German Society of Angiology.
