IBA forms alliance with RaySearch

Proton therapy technology developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) and treatment planning software firm RaySearch Laboratories have announced a long-term strategic alliance aimed at producing a turnkey hardware and software package for adaptive proton therapy treatment.

Under the collaboration, RaySearch's RayCare oncology information system will be customized for use with IBA's delivery technology, according to the firms. Joint features, dedicated software interfaces, and modified graphical user components will be developed for RayCare, RayStation, and IBA's delivery systems in order to provide workflow integration and yield a complete turnkey hardware and software package, IBA and RaySearch said.

In other IBA news, the company marked its 30th anniversary with a celebration on 6 September at Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. More than 600 guests were expected to attend the event, according to IBA.
