Siemens Healthineers posts flat Q3 numbers

Moderate growth in its diagnostic imaging business helped balance declines in other healthcare segments for Siemens Healthineers in the third quarter of fiscal 2016 (end-June 30).

Third-quarter revenues decreased slightly to 3.23 billion euros ($3.6 billion U.S.), compared with revenues of 3.246 billion euros ($3.61 billion U.S.) in the third quarter of 2015. Revenues were flat on an actual basis and up 2% after currency adjustments.

Third-quarter profit slumped to 534 million euros ($594.9 million U.S.), compared with profit of 549 million euros ($611.6 million U.S.) in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Orders in the fiscal third quarter climbed to 3.382 billion euros ($3.76 billion U.S.) from 3.318 billion euros ($3.7 billion U.S.) in 2015's third quarter. Siemens credited orders from Asia and Australia and particularly strong gains in China for the increase.

For the nine-month period, revenues advanced 6% to 9.837 billion euros ($10.96 billion U.S.), compared with 9.309 billion euros ($10.36 billion U.S.) in the same period of fiscal 2015.
