Varian secures Turkish orders

Radiation therapy firm Varian Medical Systems has announced it will be supplying more than 20 medical linear accelerators to public and private hospitals in Turkey.

Varian has signed on to provide two TrueBeam systems and Turkey's first VitalBeam linear accelerator to hospitals in the cities of Mersin and Ankara. The radiotherapy systems will be provided to DIA Holding, the main contractor on the Integrated Healthcare Campus Project tendered by the Turkish Ministry of Health under a public/private partnership.

Earlier this year, Varian also received an order for 14 Clinac iX and Trilogy linear accelerators from the Turkish Ministry of Health for public radiotherapy centers across Turkey. Varian plans to deliver the systems to the Turkish customers over the next 18 months.
