IBA to create Dutch proton therapy center

Proton therapy developer Ion Beam Applications (IBA) will establish the first proton therapy center in the Netherlands at University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG).

The agreement, worth an estimated 50 million euros, will have IBA equip the new center with its Proteus Plus two-gantry room configuration, which features pencil-beam scanning and conebeam CT capabilities.

IBA also will provide long-term operation and maintenance for the center at UMCG.
