ESR passes membership milestone

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) has just passed the 60,000-member mark, validating the organization's bet that low membership fees lead to higher growth.

ESR introduced low membership fees (10 euros for full or trainee membership, plus free corresponding membership) in 2007 in a bid to ensure that the benefits remained accessible to younger radiologists and those from less affluent countries. ESR also offers low registration fees (as low as 250 euros for members and 40 euros for students) for its annual meeting, the ECR, which welcomes more than 20,000 attendees every March in Vienna.
