Second-quarter healthcare revenues increased 8% to 3.36 billion euros ($4.44 billion U.S.), compared with 3.12 billion euros ($4.12 billion) in the second quarter of fiscal 2011. Profit decreased to a total of 424 million euros ($560 million), compared with 450 million euros ($595 million) in the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.

On a regional basis, Asia and Australia posted double-digit increases in both revenue and orders, highlighted by substantial growth in China.
