Fuel3D launches 3D foot scanner

Fuel3D has launched a new 3D foot scanner for the orthotics industry.

The Oxford, U.K.-based company developed CryoScan3D with Cryos Technologies of Joliette, Quebec. It produces high-resolution, full-color 3D models of the foot in a range of positions to allow clinicians to create foot orthotics, Fuel3D said.

The scanner is the first to use Fuel3D's software and hardware technology, according to the company. Its launch comes just after the company announced that it has received 1.7 million euros in Horizon 2020 funding from the European Commission's Research and Innovation program to develop a 270-degree scanning system for the eyewear market.
