Katja Pinker gives her latest thoughts on breast AI adoption

Ahead of the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI) annual congress, Dr. Katja Pinker, PhD, from New York and Vienna, spoke with AuntMinnieEurope.com about the challenges of adopting AI in breast imaging.

While AI continues its push into medical imaging, the technology still faces several challenges while different subspecialty departments mull further adoption.

Dr. Katja Pinker, PhD, is a member of the EUSOBI scientific committee. She is a radiologist at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and is professor of radiology at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She wrote a commentary piece published in European Radiology that outlines these challenges, as well as opportunities for breast imaging leaders who are considering using AI more in their practices.

In advance of EUSOBI 2023, which begins on 28 September in Valencia, Spain, she spoke with AuntMinnieEurope.com contributing editor Amerigo Allegretto to provide further thoughts on the “Pandora’s box” that comes with AI in medical imaging.
